Sunsets and Strangers

Cerulean waves dance along

Gold coloured sand,

Beneath a curtain of

Azure sky laced with pink.

Looking out across this view,

Stands a girl

With red strands of hair

Whipping in her face,

Matching the movements

Of the tall marram grass.

Fifty metres south

Sit a group of friends

In their own happy world

Hidden out of her sight.

They laugh, content,

As the fading sun

Reflects off their glass bottles

Creating a myriad of colours.

Countless strangers

Along the shore

Stand with baited breath,

As the final golden rays

Of the sinking sun

Disappear into the sapphire waves.
