Peace

I pull on my sweater

over my pyjamas,

and slip my feet

into some shoes.

I grab my keys, phone

and headphones

and slip out of the house

into the early morning.

Not a sound to be heard,

or a car to be seen.

I make my way to

the clearing,

sitting down in the

grass, coated in early

morning dew.

I put my headphones in,

and press play,

allowing the slow,

peaceful music ring in

my ears.

My heartbeat slows,

and I feel my body relax,

as I sink deep into

the music.

My eyes gaze over the

horizon,

and I watch the sunrise,

for once, feeling nothing but

peace.
